- This large contemporary oil on box canvas was inspired by a trip I took to Venice many years ago. I originally sketched the scene, and later painted a small version to test colours, and have now finally painted the larger final piece I had in mind. It is painted using a multitude of techniques to create the appearance of texture and patina. The piece is painted on deep edged box canvas and is ready to hang; it will not necessarily have to be framed. The edges are painted a crisp white.
