- This contemporary oil on box canvas is based upon a pebble found at Dawlish Warren. I find it interesting how the colour of pebbles on the beach are so much richer when they are wet. Whilst beach combing I was staggered by the whole spectrum of colours that could be found, and such an array of intricate patterns, texture and detail. This purple pebble is painted using washes, splashes and areas of impasto. The background and sides are mostly textured and white.
