- This contemporary painting incorporates oil and gold leaf on canvas. It is inspired by my passion for the playfulness of colour and light found around the Mediterranean. The starting point was the exterior of the a Venetian church, which had a plain exterior but had fascinating coloured brickwork, weathered away over the years to produce a mass of tones.
